Brahms's A German Requiem | Sussex Chorus

Brahms's Requiem, perhaps one of the most popular works in the choral repertoire for both audience and singers, will be performed on 17th March at The King's Church, Burgess Hill. Two stunning young soloists and the Kent Sinfonia will be joining us under the direction of Alan Vincent.
To start the programme we shall be performing a little-known work, Nänie. The poem Nänie, by Schiller, was set to music by Brahms in memory of his friend Anselm Feuerbach. This short but beautifully melodic piece for choir, soloists and orchestra, perfectly sets the mood for the Requiem with its stirring chorus Behold all flesh is as the grass and the ever popular How lovely are thy dwellings fair.
