Born in 1995, Malaysian pianist, Hao Zi Yoh began her music studies at the age of 3. By the age of 12, she already performed at Carnegie Hall as a gold medallist of the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition. In the same year she also performed her own composition 'Bustling City and Peaceful Suburb', representing Malaysia at the Yamaha Asia Pacific Junior Original Concert 2007. She has appeared as soloist performing in festivals around Europe, USA, China, Japan and Malaysia.

Described as a young artist with a great sensitivity to tone colour, Hao Zi has won top prizes in many international piano competitions, including the RNCM James Mottram International Piano Competition (Manchester, England 2012) where she performed with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic under the baton of Hannu Lintu. Her success at the Concurso internacional de piano Rotary Club Palma Ramon LLull, Mallorca (Spain 2013) led her to concert tours in Spain, and also opportunity to perform with the Baleares Symphony Orchestra with conductor Pablo Mielgo.

Recently she has won the Third Prize in the main category of Roma International Piano Competition and the Phillip Crawshaw Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League Competition. She is also recently selected for one of only a maximum of three Martin Musical Scholarship Trust Philharmonia Piano Fellowships on the Emerging Artists Programme, where she she is also selected as the one recipient of the opportunity sit in on relevant rehearsals to observe the role of an orchestral pianist.

As a musician, Hao Zi is very interested in outreach programmes and workshops that involve improvisations. She has performed at Wigmore Hall as part of the Music for Moment Concert Series. Besides, she is also very much interested in music and colours, which led her to experimenting with different musical ideas at the Royal Academy of Music Summer Piano Festival 2015 and 2016.

Hao Zi had the privilege to have studied under Prof. Christopher Elton (Royal Academy of Music - Master of Music and Professional Diploma Course), Prof. Elza Kolodin (Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, Germany - Bachelor of Music) and Chong Lim NG (Malaysia).

Hao Zi received music education at the Yamaha Music School at the age of 3 - Lillian Joseph, began taking piano lessons from Christina Ong Chin Chin a year after. In conjunction with the Yamaha Junior Special Advanced Course, she learned composition / harmony under Clement Siow and later Sin Min Fuei. She also received violin education under Ying Yuen Chin and Nora Kim.
