This concert is part of La Belle Époque, A French Weekend Festival of Chamber Music and Song from France's Golden Age. In collaboration with the University of Sheffield.

At 18, Debussy fell in love with Marie-Blanche Vasnier, a captivating society lady with the voice of an angel. This green-eyed muse sang her way into his heart, inspiring a period of happiness, creatively, and self-discovery. Award-winning duo Gillian Keith and Simon Lepper perform Debussy's ravishing songs, interwoven seamlessly into readings of extracts from diaries, letter and essays.
