Presented by the Royal College of Music

Vecchi Venti is a seven-piece Renaissance brass and wind ensemble, including sackbuts, cornetts and dulcian. With this versatile instrumentation, the group offers varied and exciting performances of vocal and instrumental music from 15th and 16th Century Europe.

Since forming at the Royal College of Music in 2012, Vecchi Venti has given chamber music concerts at the V&A Museum, the RCM Museum of Instruments, and at St Stephen’s Church, Gloucester Road. The ensemble also performs regularly with the choir at Christ Church, Chelsea. It forms part of the massed inter-conservatoire renaissance brass ensemble formed in summer 2016, and several of the group’s members have studied and performed as scholars at the Dartington International Summer School.

Using a variety of historical wind and brass instruments, Vecchi Venti present a musical map of Renaissance Europe: from the Flemish chanson to the Venetian masters; from Spanish canciones to dances from the French court.
