For our main concert this Christmas, we have put together a fine selection of festive music, plus a chance to give your own vocal cords a blast, accompanied by a small but perfectly formed sparkling brass band.
Our main piece is the Vaughan Williams's Fantasia on Christmas Carols, which takes some traditional English carols and transforms them into absolutely rapturous harmony. The band get a solo with the fabulous Troika from the Prokofiev Lieutenant Kijie suite. We also have some modern pieces that you may not be so familar with, but will come to love, including Todd's My Lord has come.
Finally, we round off the concert with some rousing carols, to send you on your way with a song in your step.
The venue, St James's, is just a step away from Paddington and is a superb venue, with excellent accoustics and wonderful stained glass window. It has enough space for us to offer seats on the door, although you'll find that the tickets are cheaper if brought in advance. The concert will take place by candlelight to make an even more Christmassy atmosphere.
So don't delay - put us in your Concert Diary!
