Aleksandar Pavlovic was born in 1994 in Belgrade, Serbia. At the age of seventeen he won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London, graduating in the class of Norma Fisher. Pavlovic now continues his studies on the Master of Piano Performance programme as a Margaret Mount Scholar. During his time at the RCM, Aleksandar was generously supported by the Soirée d'Or committee and Delta Foundation Serbia.
As a soloist, Pavlovic has performed in a number of concerts at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall (Elgar Room), the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Victoria & Albert Museum, St James’ Piccadilly, Yamaha and Steinway Halls in London, Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, Belgrade City Hall, Kolarac Concert Hall, The Cultural Centre of Belgrade, Conservatoire Slave de Musique in Paris, Aula Magna dell'Universita la Sapienza in Rome, Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi in Gorizia. Aleksandar has also appeared on Serbian National Television on several occasions over the last seven years culminating in his debut with the Symphony Orchestra of the Radio-Television of Serbia under maestro Bojan Sudic, performing Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto (2016).
The awards that Pavlovic has won in national and international competitions include: Robert Schumann and Chapell Medal Competitions at the Royal College of Music, London – second and third prizes; Roma and Citta di Gorizia Piano Competitions in Italy – first prizes; Nikolai Rubinstein Piano Competition in France – first prize; the Republic Piano Competition in Serbia – first prize; Petar Konjovic Piano Competition in Serbia – first prize. In 2010, Pavlovic received the Dositeja Award from the Serbian Ministry of Youth and Sports for his achievements.
Before coming to the UK, Aleksandar studied in his hometown Belgrade (Dr Vojislav Vuckovic Music School) with Branka Žiravac and privately with Igor Lazko. Additionally, he took part in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Vanessa Latarche, Leonid Margarius, Ninoslav Živkovic, amongst others.
