Nikola Avramovic is recognised as one of Serbia's most talented young musicians. Here in London, he was recently awarded the Royal College of Music's prestigious Benjamin Britten Fellowship for 2017/18 and he is continuing his studies at the RCM on the Artist Diploma course with Ian Jones and Ashley Wass.
After studies at the Belgrade Academy of Music with Professor Ninoslav Živkovic, Nikola was awarded an ABRSM Scholarship for Masters studies at the RCM where he has enjoyed success as soloist in Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and as 2nd prize winner in the Joan Chissell Schumann Piano Competition. He was also a finalist in the Sheepdrove Intercollegiate Piano Competition.
He has participated in masterclasses given by world famous pianists including Aleksandar Madzar, Ian Jones, Sofya Gulyak and Janina Fialkowska and has won first prizes at the European Piano Teachers Association Competition (2009 and 2010) and also at the Republic Piano Competition in Serbia (2009). He also won second prize at the International Competition in Nis (2007).
In 2013 and 2014, he was awarded the Katarina Acimovic scholarship and was a semi-finalist in Serbia’s Young Musician contest. In 2014 he was awarded a Yamaha Artist Scholarship. In 2015 he was awarded a special prize as the most promising pianist at Belgrade Music Academy.
Nikola has given many recitals in Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and also in the North of England as part of various festivals. He has appeared on Serbian TV and has recorded for Radio Belgrade.
Engagements for the forthcoming season include a recital in Britten Theatre at the Royal College of Music, London and a performance of Gershwin's Concerto in F with the Trinity Orchestra of Harrow.
