Songs and consort music of the court of Maximilian I

with The Linarol Consort of viols - David Hatcher, Alison Kinder, Asako Morikawa and Claire Horacek, with Matthew Pochin (tenor)

Music from a hitherto unpublished manuscript in Vienna, newly edited by David Hatcher. The manuscript, from the collection of the prominent banking family of Jacob Fugger, is the largest single collection of the works of court composer Ludwig Senfl, in addition to numerous pieces by Heinrich Isaac, Alexnder Agricola, Pierre de la Rue and Josquin Des Prez. Playing copies of the oldest surviving viol, made by Francesco Linarol and dating from exactly the same period as the manuscript, the Linarol Consort with Matthew Pochin will explore the rich and diverse repertoire of German song contained in this remarkable collection.
