Creative Arts Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Kingston University, Kate Ryder's wide-ranging experience as a pianist encompasses solo work, improvisation and collaborations with leading performers and ensembles in dance, electronics and theatre where she has established herself as a versatile and original performer. In this concert she presents a selection of works for toy piano, piano and prepared piano, ranging from works by well-known composers such as John Cage, to a world premiere by Brian Inglis.

This concert forms part of Series 6 of Borough New Music, in the 'featured instrument' strand. Other forthcoming 'featured instrument' concerts include the electric violin (Steve Bingham, 8 May 2018), and the cello (Amy Jolly, 12 June 2018). Other concerts in Series 6 include 'Percussion and voice: Chris Brannick and Sara Stowe' on 6 March 2018, 'The Durufle Trio with Janet Oates' on 13 March 2018, and a composer portrait of Gregory Rose featuring Lore Lixenberg, on 27 March 2018. Admission is free to all concerts and light refreshments are served afterwards.
