  1. Schwanengesang, 'Swan Song' D 957 - Franz Schubert
  2. An die ferne Geliebte Op 98 - Ludwig van Beethoven
  3. Selected songs - (Franz) Joseph Haydn

BBC New Generation Artist and superb song singer bass-baritone Ashley Riches draws our Schubert portrait to a close along with acclaimed pianist Joseph Middleton. Schwanengesang, Schubert’s swansong, and an exquisite exploration of love and loss, is paired with the genre’s first song cycle, Beethoven’s hymn to a distant beloved, 'An die ferne Geliebte', alongside a selection of songs by Haydn.
