To celebrate International Women's Day, Aurora Nova presents an uplifting programme of sacred works by women composers, including Judith Weir, Judith Bingham and Cecilia McDowall. This performance is in aid of Refuge, the national charity that supports women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse.

Aurora Nova is the UK's leading professional all-female choir. The singers are all soloists in their own right who unite to create not only a unique and rich sound, but also to bear witness to better opportunities for female singers at the highest levels of choral music. Leading Sunday worship at St Paul's Cathedral over the last twenty years has enabled the group to commission new works by rising stars Dobrinka Tabakova, Joanna Marsh and Elizabeth Winters, as well as championing the choral works of leading composers Thea Musgrave, Roxanna Panufnik and Hannah Kendall. The group's first London concert in 1997 raised money for the Women's Aid Federation (the forerunner of Refuge), and we are delighted to have this opportunity to once again highlight and support this vital cause.
