  1. Testament - Brett Dean
  2. Symphony No 3 in E flat, 'Eroica' Op 55 - Ludwig van Beethoven

Join City of London Sinfonia at the newly refurbished Queen Elizabeth Hall, in association with Southbank Centre, as violist Brett Dean directs his own Beethoven-inspired works and the Romantic hero's 'Eroica' Symphony, which Beethoven dedicated to Napoleon − the hero of the French Revolution.

Heroes define their age – and by any measure, Beethoven is a hero.

Beethoven’s ‘Eroica’ Symphony altered the course of music. Through speech, musical excerpts and static visuals, Hero Worship uncovers the historic transition from Classical to Romantic. It traces the fall of post-revolution Napoleon, and the rise of Beethoven from artist to hero – the great composer’s increasing deafness and personal and artistic anguish reflected in Brett Dean’s modern Testament.
