Rossini is heard at his most playful in this delightful collection of wind quartets and, even without voices, he captures the essence of Italian opera. A short suite of pieces for wind instruments, by members of Sheffield’s professional composers collective, Platform 4, has also been specially commissioned to complement the Italian flavour of the occasion. And as a Sunday afternoon treat, they’re all served up with tea or coffee, and cake!
