Firmly established as one of the leading musical lights of the region, North Cotswold Chamber Choir (founded in 1992) will have recently given this programme at the Festival of Faith and Literature held in Bloxham.

The musical centrepiece of this concert for chamber choir and organ will be settings of texts inspired by the Book of Revelation from English composers Edgar Bainton (And I saw a new Heaven) and Hubert Parry (There is an old belief). The themes of a heavenly city, the river of the water of life, and spiritual restoration will be reflected in a wide-ranging programme including anthems, prayers, spirituals, and popular song.

Living composers represented include Andy Beck (Riversong), Bob Chilcott (Come back!) and Jussi Chydenius (The sound of the sea). Interspersed with poetry and prose, this event will be full of joy, thoughtfulness and reflection.
