For their next performance the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra will present ‘A Frozen Afternoon’, a family concert filled with fun, excitement and great music! Children are welcome at this special performance where they can discover the magic of seeing and hearing a full orchestra live in concert.

The programme will include a wonderful selection of music from Disney’s Frozen, from ‘In summer’ right through to ‘Let it go’ and many other great moments in the film. Vivaldi’s ‘Winter’ from The Four Seasons will also be performed along with music from The Snowman by Blake. Prokofiev’s Troika will continue the winter theme before the audience are invited on a Sleigh Ride, courtesy of Leroy Anderson. Audience participation will be required to keep the sleigh bells ringing and to also take part in a sing-along or two!

The Skaters’ Waltz by Waldteufel will complete the wintry picture, along with music from The Snow Maiden by Rimsky-Korsakov.

Currently proceeding through its 32nd Season the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra is now well established in the local area with over 60 registered members, having performed an incredibly wide and varied repertoire of works over the years. In addition to countless concerts at local venues throughout Hillingdon, the group has also performed at some of London’s most prestigious venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Southwark Cathedral. In July 2011 the group celebrated 25 years of music making at the Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square.

A Frozen Afternoon promises fun for ages 8-108 including parents and grandparents! The concert will be led by Lucy Cumming and conducted by the founder of the Orchestra, Peter J Williams. For further details see Hillingdon Theatres website
