Vivaldi’s Gloria is said to be “one of sacred music’s most uplifting choral work” and this is a rare opportunity to hear this much-loved piece of music accompanied by musicians using bows from the baroque period.

Oxybaroxy is formed solely of young musicians from Oxfordshire, and includes some of the finest upcoming talent in the UK.

Peter Hunt, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the exceptional musical talent we happen to have in our county, in an intimate setting. A member of the audience after our last performance left a note which said, and I quote:

‘I found the whole performance a thrilling and uplifting experience. What a privilege to be part of it. A lady spoke to me in the interval. She had tears in her eyes and said it was emotional and stunning.’ Well, that was a performance of Bach, another genius Baroque composer, and I hope we can produce similar tears – in a good way – with our next concert. Anyone who knows and loves Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ will, I hope, adore the Gloria”
