Written between 1887 and 1942 the works in this programme cover an enormous range of expression, both musical and religious. At one end of the spectrum is the muscular certainty of Victorian belief, conjured by Elgar's anthems, while at the other end is the intense introspection of Holst's Evening Watch. We hope you'll enjoy the 'old favourites' and also come away from the evening having made some fresh discoveries.
