The first concert of Musicke in the Ayre's 2018 season at the Museum of Bath Architecture celebrates the birth of the musical Baroque. Well-known local soprano Maria Danishvar will be accompanied by Din Ghani on archlute and baroque guitar in a programme based around music by early baroque pioneer Giulio Caccini (d 1618), his daughter Francesca (first published in 1618), and their Florentine colleague Jacopo Peri, together with works by various others who came after, such as Claudio Monteverdi and Barbara Strozzi.

This promises to be a happy hour of gorgeous music in the wonderful acoustic of the Countess of Huntingdon's Chapel, as Musicke in the Ayre continue with their increasingly popular series of early music concerts at the Chapel.
