  1. Mass in B minor BWV 232 - Johann Sebastian Bach

JS Bach's Mass in B minor was one of his last works and was not collated in full (or named as such) until after his death. He composed the Sanctus in 1724, revised it and added the Kyrie and Gloria in 1733, followed by the Credo and last movements in his final years. Over the centuries since, the overall work has been performed on many special occasions and is widely lauded as one the greatest choral compositions ever.

This is a special anniversary for us; please come along to help us celebrate our roots and ongoing growth. The English Baroque Choir was formed in 1978 and has become one of London's finest amateur choirs, with a reputation for musicality, imaginative programming and choral enthusiasm. From Allegri to Whitacre, from intimate venues to the Royal Albert Hall, we have rejoiced in medieval to modern, a cappella to oratorio, and even Christmas rock! this concert, in the baroque gem of St John's Smith Square, is a perfect celebration and promises to be an exquisite and emotional evening.
