Tickets
Free admission – no ticket required

  1. 5 Mystical Songs - Ralph Vaughan Williams
  2. The last spring (Våren), from 2 Elegiac Melodies, for piano Op 34 - Edvard Grieg, arranged for choir by Thomas Beck
  3. Chansons des bois d'Amaranthe - Jules Massenet

Scherzo invites you to join them for a recital of music on the theme of spring and Easter.

8 singers of Scherzo will sing Vaughan Williams's Mystical Songs (featuring Edward Jowle) and partsongs by Massenet and Greig, alongside some of their solo repertoire.

Scherzo is a vocal concert from London, formed of soloists in-training who come together to make music in collaborative ensemble. We deliver more intimate and informal recitals, with carefully crafted programmes along various themes, and also larger works in grander settings. Recent performances include Rossini's Stabat Mater, a recital of cantatas based on Lutheran melodies, and in June, an Italian Opera Gala, celebrating the operatic melodrama of the 19th Century. The group is directed by Matthew O'Keeffe

This is the first in our new residency at St Cuthbert's, following on the first Sunday of every month.

Don't miss out!
