London Festival of Contemporary Church Music - Compline

'Night Prayer: Compline Renewed' has been commisioned by London Festival of Contemporary Church Music for 2018 and is an exciting composition which sets the entire liturgy of compline. It is written for two choirs who can perform in the same venue or in a different venue via audio link. Ben Rowarth's music is a through-composed setting and examines themse of intimacy, fear, life and death. This piece explores ways that sound can be experienced in different parts of sacred spaces. This performance will involve a live audio link between The Lacock Scholars and The Chapel Choir of University College, Durham in Durham Castle giving both audiences a unique and unified experience of the same piece being performed 200 miles away.
