Handel's Acis and Galatea | Hurn Court Opera

Handel’s much-loved opera is a high point of baroque repertoire. Featuring a cast of young singers from London music conservatoires and an orchestra of professional players, this new production integrates dance with music to tell of Arcadian shepherd Acis’s love for nymph Galatea, and the fatal interference of monster Polyphemus.

Handel’s glorious music – full of emotion, wit and soaring melodies is both elegant and exciting. Enchanting choruses, arias and comic moments will enthrall and delight. Sung in English and directed from the harpsichord by Lynton Atkinson, the production is brought to you by Hurn Court Opera, a new venture providing high-quality performance opportunities to talented young singers.
