  2. Venus and Adonis - John Blow

Music Director John Butt conducts the Dunedin Consort in Samling Academy Opera’s production of John Blow’s Venus and Adonis and Henry Purcell’s Come, ye sons of art. Featuring Samling Artist Tim Morgan as Cupid and soloists from Samling Academy, this production is directed by Samling Artist Miranda Wright and choreographed by Mandy Demetriou. Don’t miss the chance to witness this double-bill of Blow’s masterpiece, considered the first English opera, and Purcell’s much loved baroque ode dedicated to Queen Mary.
