  1. Light without shadows - David Braid
  2. Fugue for my friends - David Braid
  3. Touch - David Braid
  4. The fugue of art - David Braid

Braid’s music is lyrical, emotionally engaging and was described by pioneering composer Steve Reich as ‘very honest stuff’.

The concert features settings of the poems of Thom Gunn, RS Thomas, Shakespeare, and more, sung by chart-topping mezzo-soprano Emily Gray.

Chamber works are performed by solo clarinettist Peter Cigleris, guitarist Gerard Cousins and pianist Rossitza Stoycheva.

This combination of instruments – mezzo-soprano, clarinet, guitar and piano – generates a distinct, colourful sound world.

The range of Braid’s music is wide, drawing on his experience as a guitarist and lutenist, the broad forms used in his symphonies, a love of music from India and his native Wales, and his favourite composer, Sibelius.
