Xoga – an operatic company with 10 musicians, 2 singers and 2 dancers – brings a remarkable evening of opera, song and dance to Omnibus Theatre.

Their opening is themed around legendary Shakespearean couples – Ophelia and Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet and more. Xoga bring their turbulent love stories of jealousy, disappointment, vanity, fate and madness to the stage with remarkable presence and drama.

In the second half of the evening, Gloria and Labarta, a Galician couple with a story every bit as resonant as Shakespeare’s many star-crossed lovers, follow a similar tragic path. Their story comes from a Galician opera ‘O Arame’ (The Tightrope) by Juan Durán and librettist, Manuel Lourenzo.

This evening will be a musical feast from this wonderful company whose Spanish roots help them breathe fire into every performance.

With the support from the Office for Cultural and Scientific Affairs of the Embassy of Spain in London.

Sponsored by the Opera Roots initiative from the National Opera Studio.

This performance will be in Galician with English surtitles.
