La defense de la vertu | Musica Antica Rotherhithe (early music ensemble)

Musica Antica Rotherhithe present some of the most beautiful and unusual music written for the Church at the turn of the 18th century, including Charpentier's monumental chaconne Magnificat H 73, Vivaldi's virtuosic Nisi Dominus for countertenor and Caldara's Maddalena ai piedi di Cristo, an intensly moving portrait of Mary Magdalene's final moments with Christ. As ever, home-infused gins, wine and beer will be sold in support of Holy Trinity Church, Rotherhithe.
