In partnership with Second Movement
In association with the Librettists Network

Twelve brand new arias, forty creative artists, one production, three performances.

In a landmark project, the National Opera Studio has commissioned twelve new arias from some of the most exciting composers and librettists working today.

Each of the arias has been composed especially for the singer, who has been involved in the creative process since the outset. The arias are designed to demonstrate the individuality of each singer's vocal talents, and will be used in their audition repertoire for years to come.

These arias will be brought together into one showcase production at Hoxton Hall, in the heart of London's bustling contemporary arts scene, directed by David Sulkin OBE with a specially constructed sound design by Alex Groves.

This production will showcase the work of British contemporary fashion designer Margaret Howell, who has generously donated all the clothes worn by the singers and répétiteurs.

The Studio is delighted to be working with Second Movement and the Librettists’ network on this exciting project, and we are incredibly grateful for the generous support of the Nicholas John Trust.
