An opportunity to not only enjoy two performances of Mozart’s Piano Concertos but also to be part of a live recording. The Turkish pianist Idil Biret has enjoyed an extraordinary career. A pupil of Nadia Boulanger, Alfred Cortot and Wilhelm Kempff, she made her US debut, playing Rachmaninov’s 3rd Piano Concerto on the day of John F Kennedy’s assassination. Her legendary association with the Naxos label (by 2004 they had sold over 2 million copies of her recordings) includes the Award-winning complete Chopin collection. She has already recorded two Mozart piano concertos in collaboration with John Gibbons and they now bring the recording team to Worthing for this unique occasion.
