An entertaining evening of medieval and Renaissance music – sublime and celestial for the Saints by Sheppard, Clemens and Lobo, sordid 13th Century songs from Spain and Germany for the sinners! Plus three of Lassus's great 'Lagrime di San Pietro' cycle, St Peter at the end of his life still haunted by his betrayal of Christ; and Walter Lambe's glorious setting of Nesciens Mater in honour of the Virgin Mary. A programme with many moods and colours sung by Nova, Bristol’s specialist early music vocal ensemble in the stunning acoustic of All Saints, Clifton.
