Beethoven in Wales 2 - Mary Hofman (violin) and Richard Ormrod (piano)

This is the second of three concerts in the 'Beethoven in Wales' cycle of his ten violin and piano sonatas and includes a newly commissioned work by the Welsh composer Sarah-Lianne Lewis. The 'Beethoven in Wales' project was launched by Rhyl Music Club in October 2018 and involves performances of the sonatas in eight other venues around the country by North Wales based duo Mary Hofman and Richard Ormrod. It includes workshops and talks with the objective of bringing together composers, artists and music clubs to celebrate the musical life of Wales. The commissioning of new works reflecting on the Beethoven by three Welsh female composers is aimed at engaging with some of the wonderful but largely under-represented female voices coming from Wales.
