This is the second concert of Vox Pura Singers, a newly-formed small vocal ensemble based in the North West specialising in sacred and secular renaissance music. Fifteen singers will sing a wide range of chansons and motets by Orlande de Lassus and a few of his contemporaries in a variety of settings, from the beautiful spare tone of one voice per part chansons, to rousing double choir motets.

The concert will take place in St Martin's Church, built during the Arts and Crafts era, and containing works by some of the greatest artists of that time, including Edward Burne Jones. The concert will last approximatley 45 minutes with no interval, and will be followed by refreshments in the church. Donations are suggested at £10 per person which includes a post-concert drink, and all funds raised will go to support the church and St Martin's Low Marple Heritage Trust.
