Platinum Choral Workshop: Cecilia Virgo

In this workshop we explore a cappella music dedicated to our patron saint of musicians, Saint Cecilia. Mixing ancient and modern has always been at the heart of Platinum's music-making, and this workshop is no exception. We enjoy the perfect polyphony of Guerrero, sitting alongside a harmonically adventurous eight-part work by little-known Renaissance composer, Daniel Torquet. Cocooned by the early music, we have two wonderful pieces from composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, both of which display a leaning towards the 16th century polyphonic style.
