Violinist Emily Nebel is enjoying a varied career as orchestral leader, recitalist and chamber musician. She has appeared as guest leader with such orchestras as the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Neubrandenburger Philharmonie, and Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. As soloist, she has performed with several orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra and Phoenix Symphony, and most recently performed Britten’s Violin Concerto on a tour throughout Germany. An avid chamber musician, Emily has been invited to numerous chamber music seminars, most notably Domaine Forget, Birdfoot Festival in New Orleans, and Prussia Cove International Musicians Seminar and Open Chamber Music, which is where she and Jean-Sélim Abdelmoula first became acquainted.
Jean-Sélim Abdelmoula is a versatile musician from Switzerland, both pianist and composer. He is the recipient of many awards in both piano and composing including the first prizes at the 2012 Edvard Grieg International Composer Competition in Oslo, 2013 Lausanne Concours d'Interprétation Musicale and 2016 Premi de Musica de Cambra Montserrat Alavedra, the third prize at the 2015 Ciurlionis International Piano Competition in Vilnius, the 2015 Guildhall Wigmore Recital Prize in London and the 2018 Lili Boulanger Memorial Fund Award in Boston. He is represented by the YCAT agency and is one of the two students of the Sir András Schiff Performance Programme for Young Pianists at the Kronberg Academy in Germany. Together, Emily and Jean-Sélim look forward to recording an album of French sonatas at the Royal Academy of Music, where Emily is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma on the Bicentenary Scholarship Scheme.
