  2. String Quintet No 1 in A Op 18 - Felix Mendelssohn
  3. String Sextet in D minor, 'Souvenir de Florence' Op 70 - Pyotr Tchaikovsky

Mozart’s dark, melancholic C minor ‘viola’ quintet, completed just a month after the great C major quintet, opens our 2019 series of concerts. There’s also a chance to hear Mendelssohn’s A major quintet, composed shortly after the much better-known Octet, before the evening is brought to an exuberant close with Tchaikovsky’s much-loved postcard from Florence.
