Emotions flow in this opening festival concert as Ensemble 360 weaves a story that travels from melancholy to joy.

Howells’s lyrical quintet evokes an English way of life destroyed by the Great War. This paves the way for a rollercoaster ride from Brahms, whose Clarinet Trio conjures stormy scenes combined with serene moments of calm. The mood lightens with Schumann’s playful Fairy tales, and the concert concludes with a Haydn quartet, packed with trademark eccentricity, wit and an abundance of cello solos!
