  1. Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) Op 45 - Johannes Brahms, arranged for soloists, choir and chamber orchestra by Iain Farrington

Full of rich, warm harmonies, Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem stands out among the great, popular requiems as being less a mass for the dead and more an offering of solace for those who mourn. Inspired perhaps by the deaths of his mother and his friend and fellow composer Robert Schumann, its music evokes comfort, loss, fear, peace and even joy.

This performance uses Iain Farrington's acclaimed, sensitive arrangement of the orchestral score for eight players, promising an experience that's both grand and intimate. A bar will be open before and after the concert.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019, Voxcetera is a North London-based chamber choir, performing an impressive variety of sacred and secular music spanning the 13th century to the present day. Recent activity includes concerts at St Martin-in-the-fields, East Finchley Arts Festival, a tour to southern Germany and recording work for Unicef's Generations campaign.
