Lunchtime Recital - Neyire Ashworth (clarinet) and Jan Winstone (piano)

Towards a more flexible musician of the future is Neyire Ashworth's motto, integrating top-class instrumental playing and improvising with a commitment to performing holistically; an embodied clarinettist, with vocal and acting skills, and an all-round improviser. Trained in London, Rotterdam and Antwerp and New York City, she has performed in ensembles, theatre pieces (including War Horse, National Theatre and West End transfer) and as soloist internationally, has performed many new works and has appeared on numerous recordings including for Meridian and Naxos. Neyire is professor of clarinet for young musicians at the Guildhall School of Music Juniors.

Jan Winstone leads an eclectic career as a musical director, song coach and pianist, ranging from musical direction and coaching for plays, opera and music theatre in the UK including the RSC (Cymbeline and King Lear 2016), National Theatre, West End and regional, and Scandinavia (Gothenburg Opera and Wermland Opera) to classical chamber music concerts in Britain and abroad. She has broadcast live for the BBC and in Sweden for STV and Swedish national radio.
