  1. String Quartet No 1, 'Kreutzer Sonata' - Leoš Janácek
  2. String Quartet No 1 in E minor, 'From my life' - Bedrich Smetana

The extraordinary Polish ensemble explore Janácek's String Quartet No 1, 'Kreutzer Sonata'. Wild, rhythmic and rich, this is Janácek at his most daring and free-spirited.

Immerse yourself in the rhythms, sounds and folk roots of music by Czech composers in this chamber music series at LSO St Luke's.

Running parallel to Sir Simon Rattle's exploration of Czech music, and the folk traditions behind it, with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican, this series of BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concerts at LSO St Luke's takes a look at solo and chamber music by Czech composers. To conclude the series, the Meccore Quartet show us how Czech composers have written for strings.
