  1. Elijah Op 70 - Felix Mendelssohn

Romsey Choral Society takes a step into a new phase following the end of six transformative years under the baton of Jamie W. Hall. At 29 years old Jamie was already enjoying a fine career as a baritone with the BBC Singers when he took up the role of Romsey Choral Society Musical Director. It is with much pride and pleasure that Romsey Choral Society marks the end of Jamie’s time with Romsey Choral Society by inviting him back to sing the role of Elijah. Jamie’s wonderful voice will more than do justice to a work of intense dramatic imagery and remarkable theatrical flair. The actions of the prophet Elijah and his interaction with the people around him are the driving force of the piece. Make time to enjoy this popular oratorio in Romsey Abbey, where the ancient architecture and wonderful acoustic provides a superb location for this dramatic and emotional tale.
