With music by Purcell, Handel and their contemporaries, resplendent trumpeter Alison Balsom and The English Concert present Gabriel: an exuberant musical and theatrical evocation of late 17th century London in all its colour, its clamour and its glorious chaos. First seen at Shakespeare’s Globe, this reimagining gives heart and soul to a teeming, joyous entertainment that (according to the Daily Telegraph) “leaves you giddy with pleasure and fully smitten”.
