Holborn Community Orchestra's next concert will take place on Saturday 22nd June at 7.30pm in the lovely 'Poet's Church', St-Giles-in-the-Fields, and the orchestra will be performing alongside the fantastic cellist Daniel Harrison. The programme includes some of the orchestra's favourite, most moving pieces, from the fireworks of Spanish folk music in Rimsky Korsakov's Cappricio Espagnole to the meditative beauty of English composer Elgar's Cello concerto. French woman composer Lili Boulanger's Trois Morceaux for piano have been adapted for orchestra by Roger Cawkwell and will be performed for the very first time by Holborn Community Orchestra. The vibrant overture from Verdi's opera Nabucco will have you hum this short, tuneful melody all the way home. As always, there will be home bakes, drinks and intermission chats.
