A Venetian Jubilee - celebrating Strozzi and more with Musicke in the Ayre

Musicke in the Ayre return to Frome Festival with a tribute to the Venetian masters of the early Baroque. In particujlar, they mark the 400th anniversary of famed female composer Barbara Strozzi born in Venice in 1619 in a programme that also includes works by her teacher Francesco Cavalli and that towering genius of the period Claudio Monteverdi.

Maria Danishvar and Jane Huint are long-term members of the Musicke in the Ayre team, both well-known in Bath as soloists and recitalists. They wll be accompanied by Din Ghani on an archlute and a baroque guitar, both made by him. Since forming Musicke in the Ayre in 2011, Din (with individual members of his ever-growng team of talented singers) has given over 120 concerts across the UK and abroad.
