Award winning Recorder Quartet Block4 present a fusion of art and music. Working with the visual artist Lynda Beckett, the group has created a varied and exciting programme weaving together works of music that are inspired by the skies, including a newly commissioned piece by composer Andrew Crossley.

Combining improvised music with fixed pre-composed works from a variety of genres, Block4 showcase the diverse world of the recorder to its full extent; works of art inspire the quartet’s programming and interpretations of music, while musical performances in turn inspire the creation of art in this one-of-a-kind performance.

This concert is preceeded by a workshop for children - The Art of Sound. Kids aged 6+ are invited to compose a piece together with Block4, as well as creating their own unique artworks and graphic scores to take home. No musical instruments or previous experience necessary! Book tickets here
