Since coming together in 1997, the Carduccis have built a reputation for championing contemporary repertoire, winning a Royal Philharmonic Society Award for their performance of the complete Shostakovich Quartets. Recent premieres have included works by Simon Rowland-Jones, Gavin Higgins and Kemal Yusuf. They have a residency at Trinity Laban, and the Carducci Musi Trust supports their work in schools and with young musicians.

'a masterclass in unanimity of musical purpose, in which severity could melt seamlessly into charm, and drama into geniality'. The Strad

London-based Kate Whitley is a composer with 'a strong, distinctive voice who, without compromising, communicates directly to a wide audience, within the concert hall and beyond.' Lewes audiences have heard Kate at the Lewes Chamber Music Festival. Her Muti-Storey Orchestra and many of her compositions have been instrumental in helping to bring contemporary music to new locations and to be appreciated by new listeners.

'unpretentious, appealingly vigorous and visceral' The Guardian
