Roberto Ruisi is a 23-year-old British violinist studying on a postgraduate course at the Royal College of Music. In his formative years, he was appointed Leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, a position he held for an unprecedented three years, and he has gone on to feature as guest Concertmaster of both L’Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in Dublin. Toby White, a young Yorkshire born cellist, completed his master’s degree with distinction at the GSMD. Besides his solo work he is an enthusiastic chamber music player and is a member of the Jubilee String Quartet with whom he plays regularly around the UK and Europe.

Roberto and Toby were selected by audition to join the Tillett Debut programme in Spring 2019. For some 30 years the Tillett Trust has actively supported young classical musicians on the point of leaving full-time education and embarking on a performing career by promoting them in a major central London Concert Hall and offering them a series of regional platforms at festivals and music clubs around the UK.
