  1. Stabat Mater - Antonín Dvorák

Tonbridge Philharmonic Society’s 2019/2020 season begins on Saturday 23rd November 2019 with a performance of Antonin Dvorák’s Stabat Mater, in the magnificent Chapel of St Augustine, Tonbridge School.

The choir and orchestra will be joined by four stellar soloists for the evening - Helena Dix, Sophie Dicks, Christopher Turner and Dawid Kimberg. Tonbridge Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra will be conducted for the evening by guest Music Director, Matthew Scott Rogers.

Consisting of 10 beautifully varied movements, Dvorák’s Stabat Mater is a substantial choral masterpiece. It is the longest setting of Stabat Mater, a 13th century poem describing the suffering of Mary at the foot of the cross.
