Colchester Chamber Choir's 10th Anniversary Concert - Magnificat: Bach/Vivaldi

A celebratory 10th anniversary concert featuring Bach’s magnificent Magnificat with the additional movements he wrote for the first performance in Leipzig in 1732; his cantata Gloria in excelsis, which presents the first version of movements he later used in his B minor Mass, and his Sanctus in D. The highly infectious and dramatic Magnificat by Vivaldi completes the programme.

Colchester Chamber Choir, one of the most acclaimed small choirs in East Anglia, returns to St Peter ad Vincula, following a sell-out performance of Rachmaninoff's powerfully evocative Vespers at the same venue in January 2019.

This will be a candlelit concert with complimentary seasonal refreshments. The period orchestra and soloists will be made up of young musicians and singers who have recently entered the top of the profession.
