  1. Prelude (Dawn over the Moscow River), from Khovanshchina - Modest Mussorgsky, completed and orchestrated by Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov
  2. Concerto for piano and orchestra No 2 in C minor Op 18 - Sergey Rachmaninov
  3. Symphony No 7 in D minor Op 70 - Antonín Dvorák

We welcome Russian pianist Victor Maslov - "one of those people who is close to all-round mastery of his repertoire" according to the New York Concert Review - as soloist in probably the most popular of all piano concertos, Rachmaninov's 2nd in C minor. Two other masterpieces of the Romantic repertoire complete the programme: Mussorgsky's atmospheric prelude to his opera Khovanschina - Dawn over the Moscow River; and Dvorák's most ambitious symphony No 7, unjustly overshadowed by the more popular 8th & 9th.
