Andrew Carter's Benedicite is a work for choir, children's choir and orchestra that takes its text from the Book of Common Prayer. For our concert, the Petersfield Chorus and Southern Pro Musica will be joined by the chapel choir of Highfield School.
Paul Spicer is one of today’s most distinguished choral conductors and is in great demand for his inspirational choral workshops. He conducts the Birmingham Bach Choir, is founder-director of the acclaimed Finzi Singers, and is Professor of Choral Conducting at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He has been Resident Conductor at Petersfield Musical Festival since 2005.
The 2020 Petersfield Musical Festival runs from 13 to 21 March, with an exciting programme of concerts, and a wide range of performers and music - including choral, orchestral, opera, solo instrumental, chamber music and a special screening of a Chaplin film, with live music accompaniment. We also celebrate 250 years since the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven.
