Music for Advent, Christmas and Epiphany with Tom Williams (conductor) and David Cowen (organ)

It is always a great pleasure to return to sing in the church of St James the Greater, with its arresting architecture and stunning acoustic. Our programme is of a slightly more esoteric and serious musical nature than that which we enjoyed bringing to the parish of Pickwell last December and will include some more contemporary compositions by Jonathan Dove, JudithWeir and Bob Chilcott, many written as commissions for the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at King’s College in Cambridge. David Cowen will also get an opportunity to display his skill and experience, with organ music by Messiaen and other twentieth century French masters.
